Mommy and I have a very special connection. I helped her through some very tough times and she helped me when I was very unsure of myself. I had just turned two when Mommy adopted me. I was smaller than everybody else and didn't want to fight for food, love, and attention. I guess I've always been a Diva at heart. When Mommy found out my birthdate was November 20, the same as hers, she knew we were kindred spirits!

In 2016, when I turned 10 and Mommy turned a really big number, we had a huge pawty and invited all of our friends! We had an amazing day! Now that we are "mature ladies" we have kept our last couple of birthdays very low key. This year, Mommy waited too long to order our cake! She came home with a pumpkin cake! This can happen when your birthday is close to a holiday like Thanksgiving and you don't plan.

Mommy had been distracted lately and very busy planning something, besides our cake, and didn't tell me until the evening of our birthday!!! She pulled out the suitcase and told me she was going back to London. TOMORROW! And she WASN'T taking me!!!!! I was very upset to say the least. Then she explained that she wasn't even staying a week and wouldn't have time to go to my palace, Hatfield House, for a visit. She was going into London, attending an event for her dissertation work, and flying home. Even though I would not get to go and enjoy my fresh cream and country walkies, I understood that this trip was not like the one we took together last summer. So, I reluctantly gave her permission to go.

It doesn't smell like a pumpkin...

Waiting on our slice of birthday cake! That's Tom Bentley, my sisser Greta, and me. Callie Mae was there too, but she was a little slow getting to the kitchen!

I can't be too upset with Mommy. She did bring me back this pawesome charm bracelet to add to my London dress!

Stay tuned for more of my adventures!

Luvs and Lix,

Sophia
